I am the director of the journalism program at the City College of New York in Harlem. I teach journalism and media studies and advise the 85 students minoring in journalism. I also work with the student editors and reporters at The Campus, our award-winning newsmagazine.
Outside of CCNY, I write articles for a variety of publications, including Essence magazine, theroot.com and Ms. Magazine. I am working as a reporter on an upcoming PBS documentary about HIV/AIDS in the black community and will help train journalists from around the world this summer at the International AIDS Conference in Washington, D.C.
